The Hyper Growth Blueprint.

Welcome back 🫡

This week’s Hyper Growth Blueprint covers:

  • 🧠 A realisation I had whilst preparing something important…

  • ⚡️ An Introduction to the ‘Chicken Wing King’

  • 💰 The 10 commandments of Google Ads in 2023

  • 🤖 NEW: Mega-Prompt of the Week

Let’s go… 👇

In 13 days, the National Entrepreneurs Convention will take place.

I’ll be on stage on day 1 to talk to 1,200+ business owners.

So this morning I was up at the crack of dawn to work on my slides.

A sneak preview of my slides so far…

I’ll admit, I always thought I was pretty decent at giving presentations.

Ever since I made it to the finals of my school public speaking competition when I was 11.

(For the one person that might care… I missed the final to go on holiday… so never got a shot at the trophy 😭)

But I realised recently just how much MORE work is required to go from good to great…

I was forced to eat a big slice of humble pie after learning people like Alex Hormozi will spend 200 hours on his slides for 1 hour presentation.

TWO HUNDRED HOURS!!

Most people don’t spend that on their product or service…

…let alone the presentation.

But the output generated was orders of magnitudes greater.

So… I guess the realisation all of this led me to was this:

i) You can achieve really good results in business & in life by using the 80/20 principle to take action on the things that are most important.

ii) BUT building something truly extraordinary requires a sh*t ton more work, energy, & focus.

After all… if it was easy, everyone would do it.

That being said… I’ve recruited some help with this week’s newsletter…👇

Meet Bradley…

He normally goes by “The Chicken Wing King”

But I prefer to call him “The Google Ads God”

(Which he absolutely hates…😂)

The Google Ads God himself… ☝️

He is responsible for ALL of our Google Ads here at BOTTERS.

In my opinion, every business would benefit from running Google Ads.

But they are complex & hard to get working…

So this week Bradley & I want to share his secrets into how you can turn Google into one of your most profitable channels…

The Ten Commandments of Google Ads in 2023

🏛️ #1 Thou shalt understand not all keywords are created equal.

🏛️ #2 Thou shalt show people what they want.

🏛️ #3 Thou shalt understand & utilise ad rank.

🏛️ #4 Thou shalt not put all their eggs in one basket.

🏛️ #5 Thou shalt understand visibility is king.

🏛️ #6 Thou shalt be willing to test broad.

🏛️ #7 Thou shalt be willing to surrender to the algorithms.

🏛️ #8 Thou shalt never auto-apply recommendations.

🏛️ #9 Thou shalt spy on competitors.

🏛️ #10 Thou shalt politely tell Google Sales Reps to do one.

🏛️ #1 Thou shalt understand not all keywords are created equal.

People search with different levels of intent.

Your Google Ads should capture them all.

But deliver different messages to them, based on their level of intent.

🏛️ #2 Thou shalt show people what they want.

Key principle: Yes Google wants your money…

…but it would rather deliver a relevant search that helps its users.

Bad experience = no users = no ads = no revenue = no Google

Win at Google by giving the searcher EXACTLY what they want.

Relevance is still king.

🏛️ #3 Thou shalt understand & utilise ad rank.

Google Ad is a competition.

Everyone’s competing for the same opportunities.

Google decides who wins based on some rules.

Some of these rules include how much money you are willing to pay, if your ad is interesting or helpful to people, or even the way you've made your ad.

The most successful advertisers understand this & focus relentlessly on improving it.

🏛️ #4 Thou shalt not put all their eggs in one basket.

Rhythmic acquisition of customers comes from having a diverse range of channels & campaigns.

Don’t go all in on one campaign.

Especially not Google’s Performance Max - which Google are pushing a lot.

These can work well (we do use them) but they form one part of a portfolio of campaigns.

🏛️ #5 Thou shalt understand visibility is king.

Hundreds of people are searching for exactly what you have to offer right now as you read this.

Are you getting in front of them?

Strangers can only buy your stuff if they know you exist.

🏛️ #6 Thou shalt be willing to test broad.

When I first started running Google Ads it would be deemed sacrilege & a waste to run Broad match keywords.

Now, thanks to improvements in the algorithm it can work extremely well.

Test with caution, but definitely test.

🏛️ #7 Thou shalt be willing to surrender to the algorithms.

The days of fighting against the algorithms with manual control are largely over.

Our best performing Google accounts are now using Portfolio Bid Strategies.

This enables the Google algorithm to share all the data amongst campaigns on the same bidding strategy, to make a better informed decision as to whether to show our ad or not - thus improving performance amongst all campaigns.

🏛️ #8 Thou shalt never auto-apply recommendations.

The ‘Recommendations’ Tab in Google Ads has an ‘auto-apply’ button.

This is the equivalent to the big red button in the President’s Office that launches nuclear missiles at your Google Ads account.

Do. Not. Press.

Avoid at all costs.

🏛️ #9 Thou shalt spy on competitors.

Google recently launched their full ad library.

So you can now search any business & see exactly what ads they’re running.

Say goodbye to writers block, and hello to endless inspiration.

🏛️ #10 Thou shalt politely tell Google Sales Reps to do one.

Google has outsourced an army of sales reps to pretend to be Google Ads Experts.

They mean well, but from mine (& many others experience) their advice is terrible.

And it normally starts with press the ‘auto-apply’ buttons.

So there you have it.

The one area we did not cover in much depth… Ad Copy.

Killer Ad Copy is what makes all the difference in Google Ads.

And luckily ‘The Google Ads God’ has agreed to share his proprietary prompt that he uses to create 10/10 Google Search Ads…
