🤖 Mega-Prompt of the Week
Let’s go… 👇
Ho, ho, hoooow the f*** is there only 13 days until Christmas… 😅
I hope you are NOT like me and have your Christmas shopping all sorted by now.
As it always does… this year has flown by.
Which means for me it’s time to reflect on how things have gone…
…to draw out the big lessons I want to take into 2024.
I am increasingly convinced that success in any realm can be boiled down to a very simple cycle of success… 👇
We implement this cycle in a few ways in our business;
i) Internally - we do a big end of year reflection & discussion with the whole team.
For each aspect of our business we look at what went well & what did not.
And then distill the key lessons from it.
ii) Externally - with our clients, we do this weekly, monthly, & quarterly.
Looking at what we’ve done & what we’ve learnt from it is probably the most valuable thing we do for our clients…
…as it allows us to readjust & continually steer our efforts towards achieving whatever target they have.
Aside from being reflective…. it’s also a time of year where I swap croissants for Bavarian Sausages…
As I was mooching around Kingston Christmas Market this weekend…
…I got thinking about the big lessons I have either learnt or had reinforced this year.
And in honour of the fact we are now only 13 days away from christmas…
…I distilled them into 13 key takeaways… 👇
Here’s 13 B-I-G Lessons I am carrying with me into 2024…
🎄#1 Revenue is King
Focus on making sales before worrying about brand image.
You can resurrect a brand, but not a dead business.
🎄#2 Craft Offers, Not Slogans
Slogans are for show; real marketing gets people moving.
Creativity without sales impact is basically glorified art class.
🎄#3 Embrace Data, But Trust Your Gut
Let data lead, but every so often, go with your instinct.
Metrics can't always capture the magic.
🎄#4 Invest in Visibility
Whether it’s paid or organic, you need to be seen.
Your marketing spend is the lifeblood of your business.
🎄#5 Ruffle Feathers
If nobody's upset, you're not passionate enough.
True marketing draws a line – you want superfans, not indifference.
🎄#6 Be Boldly Specific
Make big claims and back them up with solid content.
Take a stand and commit to it.
🎄#7 Keep Marketing
Just like romance, the effort continues long after the deal is sealed.
It’s your job to keep the spark alive.
🎄#8 Convey Big Ideas Concisely
Equally, if you've got nothing to say, silence is golden.
🎄#9 But Don't Be Afraid to Elaborate
If it's interesting, length doesn’t matter. It's boredom you want to avoid.
🎄#10 Deliver More Than Expected
Always exceed promises.
Make sure your service delivers on what your marketing promises - and then some.
🎄#11 Ignore the Hype
Forget chasing the "next big thing" and start paying attention to what your customers actually do.
🎄#12 Choose Clarity
Cut through the noise.
Clear messages win over clever, confusing ones every time.
🎄#13 Talk to Customers
Engage with them.
Without conversations, marketing is just guesswork.
In the spirit of big lesson #10… here’s a bonus one…
🎄#14 Perfect Then Amplify
Fix your offering before you try to make it big.
No amount of marketing will make a bad product good.
That’s all for this week - I hope you found it useful.
Take it easy,
Elliott ✌🏼
P.S. I share more stuff like this on LinkedIn.
