The 5-Step Process to Unlimited Ad Copy

Step-by-step guide inside.

Read time: 4-mins…

Welcome back 🫡

This week a couple of my colleagues & I were at a 2-day event in Birmingham called The Implementor.

It’s an interesting prospect for an event… as it’s not about sitting & listening to people present all day…

It’s about getting sh*t done.

Me getting ready to talk about Facebook ads for 8 hours straight…

It’s about pulling yourself out of the day-to-day running of your business to focus on the most valuable skill in the world… your ability to execute.

Ideas are easy. Execution is hard.

On the second day I hosted a 40-min workshop titled ‘The 2023 Facebook Ad Swipe File’…

In it I revealed how we are using AI to generate an unlimited amount of highly effective ad copy…

So in the spirit of ‘getting sh*t done’… I thought I’d share them with you 🫵

The 5-Step Process to Unlimited Ad Copy

  1. Write one ad copy yourself

  2. Use ChatGPT to rewrite it using 10x different Copywriting Frameworks

  3. Use ChatGPT to rewrite it using 10x different Copywriting Styles

  4. Test them all with 1,000 impressions

  5. Analyse with ChatGPT and then iterate on your winning ad copy

Let’s break it down step-by-step… 👇

Step #1: Write one Ad Copy yourself

I always recommend starting by writing one ad copy yourself.

This way you can make sure it includes:

a) Who the ad is for.

b) What the CTA is.

c) Any other key bits of information.

A human foundation to your ad copy will greatly increase the quality of the AI outputs we’re going to create.

Step #2: Use ChatGPT to rewrite it using 10x different Copywriting Frameworks

ChatGPT has been trained on every copywriting framework known to man.

Just ask it what it knows & you’ll get a list that looks similar to this… 👇

Choose 10 of your favourites & simply ask the AI to…

Rewrite this ad copy using the {{INSERT COPYWRITING FRAMEWORK}}

Step #3: Use ChatGPT to rewrite it using 10x different Copywriting Styles

Rinse & repeat but this time with Copywriting Styles.

Here’s a few of my favourites…👇

Step #4: Test them all with 1,000 impressions

We don’t want to waste time on ad copy that doesn’t work…

…and we don’t want to spend too much money on testing.

We test our ad copy by letting it get 1,000 impressions.

This is a sample size small enough that it only costs a few £’s per ad…

…but large enough to give us a signal if it is working well or not.

We will set up a rule within Facebook Ads to automatically turn off the ads after they’ve been shown to 1,000 people.

Step #5: Analyse with ChatGPT and iterate on your winning ad copy

Now we will have some winners… it’s time to make the most of them.

We use a prompt to get the AI to analyse our ad copy & suggest how each line can be improved.

Simply copy & paste your winning ad copy and ask it…

Please suggest ways to improve this ad copy:

{Insert Winning Ad Copy Here}

Please take into account the below:

{Insert any additional context that you want to make sure is included in the ad copy

For example...

- It's for business owners who are struggling with their lead generation so far in 2023.

- The ad copy should be concise, but friendly and informal. }

Please format your suggestions in a table and provide rationale as to why you have suggested them.

This will return a table with detailed feedback about your ad copy.

Give it a read to see if you agree with the suggestions & the rationale the AI has provided.

Once you’re happy, get it to create you a brand new ad copy that incorporates all the feedback using this prompt…

Write a new ad copy that incorporates all of the feedback & improvements outlined in the table above.

And voila!

Unlimited, high-quality, data-driven ad copy whenever you need.

I hope this helps.

Take it easy,

Elliott ✌🏼

P.S. I thought I’d trial giving some ’power to the people’ with a new poll…
