This weekend was unglamorous.

And by unglamorous, I mean I stayed inside for most the weekend working.

I even enjoyed my Tactical Refuel at my desk…

Like many of you, I have a lot going on at the moment.

And truth be told, I was actually really enjoying what I was working on.

So it hardly felt like hard work at all.

To be clear, I don’t work every weekend.

I know the importance of rest & recovery.

So much so I actively track & try to improve it.

BUT…

I’m also a big believer in moving things forward when you can.

And sometimes the weekend is the perfect time to do that.

Three thoughts for you…

i) Work turns into play when it’s on stuff that really fires you up

This is a bit cheesy, but very true.

For me when it’s felt like a slog in my business it’s because I had to work on a bunch of things I did not enjoy.

It’s unlikely you can ever get rid of all of these things.

But you should definitely try.

Making your life easier and more enjoyable for YOU should always be a priority.

ii) Money loves Speed

This lesson was reinforced to me this weekend.

We had a prospective new client come to the office on Thurs.

He was keen. We were keen.

But he needed an unusual and complex deal structure.

I sent him a proposal Thursday an hour or so after he left.

He came back Friday.

I then wrote back Saturday morning.

By Saturday afternoon we had agreed terms and the deal was done.

Monday we got paid

Money loves speed.

iii) How many leads would you need every week in your business for it to be completely unreasonable for you to not hit your goals?

100? 1,000? 10,000?

I think about this a lot.

Because if you have enough leads, you will have enough customers.

And if you have enough customers…

…then nearly every other problem can be managed.

The easiest way to get leads?

Create a Killer Lead Magnet.

  1. Figure out the problem you want to solve and who to solve it for

  2. Figure out how to solve it

  3. Figure out how to deliver it

  4. Test what to name it

  5. Make it easy to consume

  6. Make it darn good

  7. Make it easy for them to tell you they want more
