Last week, I got this WhatsApp message…

Now I can empathise a lot with this.
Running a business is hard. There are ALWAYS ups and downs.
But businesses don’t die from hard times… they die from lack of CASH.
So after receiving this message I pulled together my Emergency Cash Playbook - exactly what to do when you really need cash quickly.
(Oh… and you don’t have to wait until a crisis to execute these plays - do them anytime you want a cash boost… 👍)
Here's exactly what I'd do, in order of speed to cash.
Step 1: Collect your damn invoices!
Chase every unpaid invoice this morning by phone… not email.
It's the most boring play on this list and it outperforms almost everything else, because it's already your money.
Step 2: The Twenty Calls
Ring your twenty best customers.
Not email. Ring.
If you've got something obvious to offer them, offer it.
If you haven't, ask them what they're wrestling with right now, then build the thing they describe and sell it to them on the same call.
Your best customers already trust you, already pay you, and will tell you exactly what they'd buy next if you just ask.
The rule that makes this an emergency play rather than a nice chat: you take payment or a deposit on the call. Same day.
Side note - a lot of the growth in my agency came from this method, getting on the phone and selling more stuff that would help our clients get more results. If you’re doing a good job… a good chunk of your client will likely want more.
Step 3: Sell the Future
Go to the people who already buy from you and let them pay for tomorrow, today.
Annual prepay.
Block bookings.
Credit packages.
A retainer locked in for twelve months.
You make this happen by sweetening it with a bonus, not a discount, because a discount trains people to wait for the next one and quietly wrecks your pricing.
A meaningful bonus gets the yes without touching your price integrity.
Step 4: The WhatsApp Voice Notes
Voice Notes are still an underutilised tool in marketing… even though they have one of the highest consumption rates of any form of communication we can send.
You taking the time to send a hundred voice notes to past happy customers and warm prospects will go a very long way.
What do you say?
If people are in an active sales conversation and you try and push them over the line.
If they're not, my go-to line is straight from our referral playbook, and we say,
"Hey, do you know anyone that might be interested in achieving [specific outcome?]"
People either respond with referrals, objections that you can overcome, or they self-identify as "yes, that was me."
These are 4 out of 8 plays that you can execute all on the same day and require next to no spend… just a bit of dutch courage.
And don’t forget… every one of these plays works just as well when you don't need the money.
It’s kinda crazy to me most business owners only pick up the phone to their best customers when there's a crisis…
As always, hope this was useful.
