The Hyper Growth Blueprint.

Welcome back folks š«”
This weekās Hyper Growth Blueprint covers:
šŗšø 2 reasons Iām excited this weekā¦
š 1 very interesting chart
š Why authenticity is gold
š¤ Mega-Prompt of the Week: The Ultimate Proof-Reader
Letās goā¦ š
Itās an exciting week for two reasons:
I am off to Austin, TX for a 2-day Mastermind
This means a few days of expanding my mind & having my beliefs challenged.
All whilst soaking up the Austin vibes & pumping myself with BBQ meat & pecan cobbler.
My first meal as soon as I got off the plane at Coopers BBQ - a double load of brisket, sirloin & sausage.
We have entered the final month of Q1
2024 is moving quickly.
As we crash into March, I start to reflect on our Q1 goals that we set.
The good - we are way ahead on our new business targets.
Weāre now not taking on clients until May/June.
The bad - weāre a little behind on a big internal project.
We made big progress on it in Jan, but then I let it fall into the background as we prioritised client work.
An easy mistake to makeā¦ but still no excuse.
Itās served as a good reminder that as a business owner I have to be the driving force that treats our internal projects with the same vigor and gusto as our client work!
This chart shows the Cost to Acquire a New Customer from an index of business.
It shows the last 12-months (green line) vs the 12-months prior (blue line).
One thing is clear: itās getting MORE expensive to acquire new customers.
Why?
Youāll hear most people shouting aboutā¦
- Economic factors
- Market saturation
- Increased ad blocking
- Increased competition
- Rising cost of keywords
- Shifts in consumer behavior
- Ad quality and relevance issues
- Regulatory changes and privacy concerns
- Changes in advertising platform algorithms
These may be playing a small part - for sure.
But I think thereās another reasonā¦
I think itās because most businesses ads are š©.
All it takes is a few minutes scrolling on your social media app of choiceā¦
ā¦and youāll be hit by a barrage of very similar, generically written, pushy sales ads.
Why is this?
Hereās my theoryā¦
A few years ago, Meta & Google once dominated the advertising landscape.
Now other platformsā¦ like YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, Disney+, Prime Video have exploded in popularityā¦
ā¦resulting in the same pool of eyeballs and attention being split across more avenues.
Less Eyeballs = Less Effective Advertising
Less Effective Advertising = Less Ad Dollars Spent
Less Ad Dollars Spent = Less Profit For Ad Platforms
Less Profit For Ad Platforms = Disgruntled Executives & Shareholders
Soā¦ itās become a battle for these platforms to try and get more people spending more money on their ads, so they can try to revive their profits.
Their solution?
Simple - make it really easy to set up & run ads.
In an attempt to encourage more businesses to start running ads, Meta & Google alike have tried to make the process as quick & simple as possible.
Theyāve released a plethora of AI driven updates, simplified user interfaces, and automated ad campaigns you can set up in less than 5 minutes.
We saw these Advantage+ campaigns on Facebook and Performance Max on Google.
Whilst I am all for lowering the barrier to entry for advertisersā¦
ā¦it leads to one unavoidable truthā¦
Most of the ads that businesses are running have been written by generic AI or had very little thought put into them.
Which is where the opportunity lies for you and me, dear readerā¦š
In a world of hyper-selly adsā¦ we can stand out by being authentic & self-aware.
Authenticity is the currency of champions.
And itās something I sense consumers have a growing appetite for.
People are growing numb to the same old sales puff and hyperbole that most brands promise & plaster all over their ads.
And instead they are flocking to those who are real.
Those that know they donāt solve every single problem you have.
Those that know they canāt make you a millionaire overnight.
Those that use humility to show they are self-aware.
Weāre launching a number of tests for our clients this week - all around being self-aware & authentic.
What does it actually mean to be self-aware & authentic?
Being honest
Talking about facts
Calling out your flaws
Recognising legitimate objections
Why does being authentic work?
It stands out
It builds a huge amount of trust
It gives the buyer a sense of control
No one likes to be sold to, but they love to buy.
Iāll report back once we have the data on our new authentic adsā¦
Thatās all for this week - I hope you found it useful.
Take it easy,
Elliott āš¼

P.P.S. I open up 1 slot in my diary each week to chat to a Hyper Growth Blueprint subscriber about their business.
