Last night I went to see the WWE live for the first time…

I’m not a crazy wrestling fan…

In fact it was only after watching Mr McMahon on Netflix that I had an itch to go.

I have to say, they put on quite the show.

  • Crazy intro music

  • Ridiculous arguments

  • Surprise stars bursting in

  • Steel cage match dropping in

  • Every ā€˜bout’ is for some kind of championship

After seeing it live I appreciate how expertly planned every single moment is…

…designed to keep your attention on tenterhooks until the main event.

As a marketer I tip my hat because these guys get it.

Brace for Impact

It’s that time of year again…

  • Halloween

  • Black Friday

  • Christmas

  • And an extra treat for this year… the US Elections!

Looking at data from an index of 100’s of Meta Ads Accounts, we can see that the last 3 weeks CPM’s have been about 34% higher compared to the same time last year…

…and based on the spike around November last year… they are going to keep going up in the short term.

What does this mean?

It means if you stay running the same ā€˜business as usual’ campaigns then you should anticipate a slight drop in performance.

But on the flipside… this time of year is equally matched with people’s appetite to buy & spend money.

Which should still make it a huge opportunity for you regardless of what industry you’re in.

Here’s how I plan to make the most of itā€¦šŸ‘‡

How to turn Q4 into a Mega Opportunity…

  • When everyone zigs, zag

Chances are people in your space will all be running very similar bog standard offers.

Take this as an opportunity to create your own ā€˜Blue Ocean’.

By that I mean create an offer or promotion that is distinctively unique.

  • Use the license to test wild offers

During this period crazy offers are expected.

Use this license to test yours without fear of disrupting your core customer base.

  • Don’t make assumptions

Don’t start turning off your campaigns if they are still working!

Resist the urge changes like this because of assumptions you hold (or because of something you read in a newsletter!).

Only start turning things off if you see the data in your account indicating that’s a good idea.

I know plenty of businesses that cruise through this period with literally zero need for changes…

  • Plan for January

My favourite time of the year for advertising is January.

This is because all this ā€˜inflation’ ends and ad prices drop.

Plus people are in the ā€˜New Year, New Me’ spirit.

So get your campaigns and plans for then in the diary now.
