🤖 Mega-Prompt of the Week: Donald Miller’s StoryBrand Framework
Let’s go… 👇
Last week a friend of mine shared a fascinating story…
He had flown out to Vegas for a 2-day Scaling Workshop with Alex & Leila Hormozi at their new HQ.
(The very same one I will be at in a couple week’s time)
Ali had the foresight to create some custom artwork for Alex & Leila to give them as a gift.
It was incredibly thoughtful.
Security is pretty tight at these sort of things…
…so when he arrived he wasn’t allowed to give it directly to them…
…he was forced to hand the artwork to one of the team members.
Then the workshop began.
A couple hours into it…
…security come & tap him on the back.
They grab Ali & escort him out.
To his surprise…
…they take him straight to Alex’s office!
He’d seen the artwork & wanted to have a chat with Ali.
So they spent 10 minutes chatting things through.
Ali & Alex
It’s a great story that reminded me:
The Power of Standing Out - not one other person out the 100 people there had the same idea…
The Power of Reciprocity - even $100m+ Entrepreneurs are not immune to this.
The Power of Planning Ahead - a relatively small amount of thought followed by action can have drastic impact on how an event or meeting may play out.
So big kudos to Ali - I salute you bro 🫡
I was up in Leeds this weekend.
Interestingly enough, I was there for Coffee making workshop.
I emerged with a newfound respect for Baristas after spending 2 hours struggling to even make a heart.
This was my best attempt…
Whilst I was there, I picked up this book…
The Motive - Patrick Lencioni
And I read it in one go, in about 90 minutes…
Whilst it was packed with a phenomenal lesson on Leadership (which I highly recommend you go read & check out)…
…I was struck by how brilliantly written it was because it is told as a story.
The entire book (excluding a short summary at then end) tells a story of two CEO’s with two different businesses having an intense dialogue.
It’s equal parts gripping and enlightening.
As a result, not only could I not put it down…
…but I absorbed the key lessons incredibly quickly.
And whilst some business books are a chore to get through…
…this was a delight. 👌
It reminded me of the power of storytelling…
Storytelling engages emotions.
It captivates imagination.
Stories forge connections between people.
They resonate deeper than raw data.
Facts inform.
But stories inspire.
We remember stories…
…not lists of facts.
A narrative simplifies complex ideas.
It makes them relatable.
Us humans are wired for stories.
Our history is told through them.
Stories put ideas into context.
They give meaning to facts.
Stories stir emotions.
Emotion drives action.
They influence decisions MORE than logic alone.
In marketing... a good story differentiates a brand.
People buy into the story, then the product.
It's not just what you sell.
It's the story behind it.
That’s all for this week - I hope you found it useful.
Take it easy,
Elliott ✌🏼
